Dr. Angela Agrios ND – Vice-President

Dr. Deborah Gleisner ND - Executive Committee Secretary

Deborah Gleisner practices as a Naturopathic Doctor and Certified Professional Midwife in Los Angeles.  Dr. Gleisner's approach to healing focuses on nutrition, botanical medicine, lifestyle changes and bodywork. She is a strong proponent of hydrotherapy, and employs science-based and evidence-based therapies.  She views the care of a patient's health as a long-term, collaborative partnership between doctor and patient.

Her undergraduate degree is in Mathematics with a minor in music.  She worked in the health care administration field as a database administrator for a number of years before returning to school and attending Bastyr University.  While at Bastyr she spent a lot of time tutoring and TAing a number of different classes, as well as running the Herbal Ways club.  She finds herself as a new graduate in a new state, starting her practice and wondering what happened to the rain.

Dr. Lena Kian ND

Dr. Lena Kian is a California Licensed Naturopathic Doctor. In her practice, she uses treatments such as nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy, counseling, and health education to empower her patients to achieve their greatest health potential. She believes that many conditions such as hormonal imbalance, allergies, cardivascular disease, metabolic disorders, and general aches and pains can be effectively treated by examining the cause and the whole person, rather than just symptoms. Dr. Kian speaks in local communities about naturopathic medicine and is fluent in both English and Farsi.

I was born and raised in beautiful Haines, Alaska.  I graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in Zoology from Washington State University in 1997.  Before pursuing my dreams of becoming a doctor of natural medicine, I joined the Peace Corps in 1998.  I served for two years in Mauritania, West Africa in the Agro-Forestry sector.  I had the time of my life and will value the experiences and challenges I faced living in the Western Sahara desert forever.

I received my Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine in 2005 from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, OR.  I moved to Chico, California in 2006 and established Chico Naturopathic Medicine.  I have enjoyed living in California the past few years and look forward to helping naturopathic medicine become a mainstay in this state.  I see great potential and I love being a part of our natural health care revolution.
