Background: Dr. Kris Appelhans has demonstrated an interest and involvement in health and wellness through many facets of her work and academic experiences. She has been a personal trainer and nutritional consultant for 10 years to a variety of age groups and levels of health and fitness. She has also applied principles of nutrition and exercise to athletic performance in her endeavors as a competitive athlete in the fitness industry for the past 5 years. Before starting her own practice, Dr. Appelhans practiced clinically with an emphasis in therapies supporting patients with chronic disease including cancer, diabetes, and gastrointestinal disorders. In addition, she worked closely with professional athletes by providing treatments in rehabilitation and recovery as well as sports performance.

Current Position: Dr. Appelhans's practice is located in Westwood/Los Angeles, California. She welcomes patients of all ages and treats a broad range of acute and chronic illnesses including diabetes and metabolic syndrome, IBS, GERD, cold and flu, hypertension, high cholesterol, insomnia, allergies, obesity, eczema, food intolerance, constipation, chronic fatigue, osteoarthritis, autoimmune disorders, and more. Dr. Appelhans also offers many supportive and complementary treatment options to patients with cancer as well as patients requiring general recovery post-surgery, athletic injuries, or other physical trauma. She continues to work with athletes offering an extensive background and experience in sports performance, bodybuilding and fitness, and athletic nutritional therapy.
