Course Overview
Clinical genomics, and specifically nutrigenomics, has undergone a very quick evolution in the past few years.  Physicians have gone from barely knowing what a SNP (single nucleotide polymorphism) is to looking at 55 page SNP reports patients present and attempt to make determinations regarding their role in the patient’s health.  In this course, Dr. Anderson will discuss some of the traps and pitfalls he has seen in assessing thousands of reports, how he assesses them clinically, and instances of “cases gone wrong” when incorporating genomics.  The goal of the course is to give context to where this data fits into the clinical picture and the most efficient manner in which to employ it with patients.

Attend this presentation to confidently:

1.  Understand the effects of epigenetic and other modifying factors on the clinical meaning of a SNP report.
2.  Discuss methods of assessing these non-genomic effectors for clinical use.
3.  Understand the basis of common reactions to genomic support protocols.
4.  Describe methods to avoid those common negative reactions.
5.  Discuss variable dosing strategies for overall appropriate supplementation.
