Naturopathic Webinar 54
with Dr. Lise Alschuler, ND, FABNO
NW54: Cancer & Aging - Optimizing Post-Treatment Cancer Survivorship
The first part of this presentation will address carcinogenesis from the perspective of aging, to address the questions of why cancer is more common in older people. Is cancer inevitable over our lifespan? Is cancer prevention relevant in the elderly? Special considerations in older people with cancer will also be reviewed.
The second part of this presentation will review survivorship after definitive treatment for cancer. The priorities of cancer survivors and evidence-based strategies to address these concerns, as well as common treatment-related after-effects (renal insufficiency, cardiomyopathy, immunity, fatigue, and cognitive dysfunction) will be reviewed.
